Hello all.
For a while, I have been trying to figure out how to best go about how to tackle my sizable backlog of LM.C interviews.
I’ve decided that for the foreseeable future to focus on the Rock & Read Interviews. There are several reasons for this:
1) Release schedule: RR releases a new volume every 2 months. And LM.C appears about [they’ll be absent for a while if they have something going one like a new album [like their 8-month absence prior to the release of Future Sensation; it was even longer for Aiji] every 3 – 5 volumes. This means my Partner and I should ideally have enough time to finish a translation (and part of another, possibly 2 interviews) before a new volume is released. It takes on average about 3 months for us to translate an RR interview due to our schedules.
Additionally, RR is the only magazine that LM.C appears in regularly that is still on-going. Shoxx, Kera, and Gacha Gacha (I think it was called) are gone.
There is also PHY and Stuppy, but those are much more random. Since all the other magazines are discontinued, I don’t need to worry about those ones piling up.
2) Balance: RR is really good about alternating interviews. If Maya appears in one issue Aiji will be in the next. There only 2 instances I can think of when this wasn’t the case, I like this because the vast majority of stuff I have centers mostly on Maya (since he had his own Serial in Kera)
And I’ve wanted to do more Aiji interviews, so far it’s been mostly Maya.
3) Length and Value: Without question RR has the best interviews. They’re long which really lets you learn more about Maya and Aiji as people. Most other interviews center on their latest album release or upcoming shows, but few, with the exception of special interviews, go beyond that. I think that’s what makes RR so special.
4) Translation Ratio: Of the nearly 10 RR volumes I have, I’ve only done three of them, and two of the interviews were from one issue.
So that the direction we’ll be headed in.
As always if you have an interview you really want to see let me know.
Next interview will be RR80 (whenever it arrives, hopefully soon, I choose EMS shipping)!!
*note: I will not be translating RR79 as that has already been done.
